Brian Yates (HS Head Coach) grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and started playing lacrosse at the age of 8. He was a defensive Captain at Calvert Hall College High School and was selected to the MSA (Maryland Scholastic Association) Under 17 All-Star Team for the Vail Shoot-Out and the MSA Senior All-Star Team. Additionally, in 1988 and 1989 he was named as a member of the U.S. Junior Men’s Lacrosse Team. Brian went on to play at the University of Maryland on lacrosse scholarship. He has also played for The Washington Lacrosse Club and The New York Athletic Club. Brian coached PSL's U15 team last year with impressive showings at our tournaments. He has also coached the Upper St. Clair K-4 Lacrosse Teams in 2009 and 2010. This is Brian's second year with PSL. Jack Flinter (HS Asst. Coach) coached High School Lacrosse from 1983 to 1991 at Framingham South High School outside of Boston. From 1988 - 1991, he was the Varsity Head Coach earning his team two consecutive semi-final appearances in the very competitive Eastern Massachusetts State Tournament. Jack was the 1991 Lacrosse Coach of the Year awarded by the South Middlesex Daily News and was runner-up for Coach of the Year for the Boston Globe. Jack has coached for USC middle school teams and is in his 4th year with Pittsburgh Select. Matt Giglotti (U15 Head Coach)- Matt Giglotti began his lacrosse career Upper St. Clair High School and was a four-year letterman. During that time he was named 1st team All-League Midfielder in 1995 and 1996. Matt was named 1996 WPSLA MVP his senior season recording 63 goals as a midfielder – a record that still stands. Matt then played for Penn State’s club team. During his three seasons there, he was a two year starter and won 3 NCLL National Championships from 1999 – 2001. Matt has coached USC’s middle school program for the past four years and this will be his fourth season coaching for Pittsburgh Select. Lee Davis (U13 Head Coach) began playing at Age 12 in Melbourne, Australia. While playing in Australia Lee won 5 state titles and 3 national titles, scoring over 500 points in his junior career spanning 6 years. In his late teens Lee began to research playing Lacrosse in the US, and was lucky to make some valuable contacts through his years of lacrosse in Australia. One of those contacts eventually put him in touch with Coach Bear Davis (Current Robert Morris Head Coach). After months of contact with Coach Davis, Lee decided Robert Morris was the university for him. Lee played 3 years for the Colonials, he lettered in each of his 3 years and was a regular contributor on the 1st and 2nd Midfield lines. Lee is currently coaching the Robert Morris Club Lacrosse team and completing his Masters Degree in Business. Taylor Caparosa (U!3 Asst. Coach) is currently a junior at Robert Morris University working towards a degree in Sports Management. He graduated in 2007 from Annapolis High School where he played varsity lacrosse and also played for the Chesapeake Elite Lacrosse Club. Talyor traveled with the Crossroads Lacrosse Club to Manchester England as well as the Vail Shootout. While at RMU he has played in an offensive midfield role helping the team to the fourth-ranked offense in the country in 2009. RMU is currently ranked as the number one offense in the country for the 2010 season. Mike McBride is the Varsity Head Coach of Peters Township program. Mike was a four-year starter at Wheeling Jesuit University and has coached many All-Star Leagues and Youth Camps. He also has international playing experience. Matt Oxenreiter - Matt played at (NCAA Division III) St Vincent College where he was a three year Captain and three year Allegheny Lacrosse League All Star graduating in 1990. Upon graduation he immediately started his coaching career at the Valley School of Ligonier. Matt followed this by coaching high school teams at the Shadyside Academy and Upper St Clair. He has coached at the middle school level at Upper St Clair for five years prior to concentrating his efforts on Pittsburgh Select. Matt founded Pittsburgh Select in 2005. Away from lacrosse, Matt owns and operates an Investment Management firm, Midway Financial. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
